Bunnings BBQ keeps the club sizzling

Twice a year, you’ll find Blue Gum Squash Club manning the tongs at Melville Bunnings for our major fundraiser – and our recent BBQ was another great success.

A huge shout-out to our incredible volunteers who rolled up their sleeves and worked through rain and shine. These efforts go well beyond flipping sausages – they’re what keep our club running strong.

While it’s always fun to be behind the BBQ, these events also give us the chance to connect with the local community, chat about the club and share our love for squash.

Funds raised go directly back into Blue Gum Squash Club to support the programs, events and improvements that help make squash more accessible and welcoming for everyone.

We’re also proud to recognise Massage on the Run as our major sponsor. Their continued support over the past few years has been invaluable – helping us run the BBQ and ensuring more of the profits go back into the club where they belong. We simply couldn’t do it without them.

A special thank you to club member Belinda Martella, whose generous donation of sausages each year has made a real difference.

This weekend also marked the debut of our new signage featuring the club’s message: Play. Connect. Thrive. It’s a simple but captures what we’re all about – providing opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to get involved, build connections and grow through sport.
